Deborah is comfortable with people and has an obvious gift for putting others at ease.  Music is very important to her. She has been a music teacher, a choir director and a vocalist. She enjoys learning new instruments and experimenting with all kinds of music both in worship and for pleasure.  Her singing has been mostly church/classical in recent years, but she loves to sing anything.  Someday she would like to sing jazz! She also reads widely and loves to travel, hike and sail.  Currently she is Fleet Chaplain of the Essex Yacht Club, and in years past she crewed on the Marblehead to Halifax Sailboat Race.

The search process has been an interesting and exciting experience. Meeting Deborah Blood, visiting with her and listening to her preach and lead worship has assured all of us that working with her as our pastor will provide an opportunity to make our church a wonderful place to worship and learn. With her as our pastor, we can grow into a fellowship proactive toward and sensitive to needs in our community and the world. And we can learn that being Christian is about breaking down barriers between people and promoting a unity in the world that respects all religions.
